my rabbits are normal sized mini lion head and are perfect weight but they die and are soo skinny i feed them good in one month 4 rabbits had died of this please help im down to 2
they were completely healthy rabbits and are all in wired cages outside the one who started it had no contact with the others then one died of a wasp sting + that and now my fist rabbit died along with another one ,they showed no signs of sickness yet when i saw them their back legs were covered in poop and pee or nasty brown liquid. The ones living have had the cages cleaned bleached and sprayed
Please get them checked by the vet! I am assuming you have your rabbits all vaccinated against myximatosis and viral haemorrhagic diarrhoea. I’m also assuming that you panacur them every 4-6 months to prevent worms.
How did they behave before they died? Did they just suddenly die? Did they have upset stomachs? Did a fox get into the garden and scare them? Have they seen a vet recently?
You MUST arrange for a post mortem of any other bunnies that die, so that you can hopefully prevent if from happening again. It may be contagious, and spread to all of your rabbits, but be contained if you catch it soon enough.
I’m so sorry that your buns are sick, they don’t so muh live, more perch on the edge of life. Bunnies are so fragile. It’s clear that you love them very much, please give them noserubs from me.
