Can you keep Lionhead rabbits and Cashmere rabbits together?

Monday, August 31st, 2009

I have a lionhead rabbit and have been looking for a companion for her. I have seen a Cashmere rabbit I like and am considering buying him as a friend for her, is this wise or silly? (I have the time for grooming them)

Rabbits are rabbits, they are all the same species and it depends on the individuals how they will get on. I hope the male you are planning on buying is neutered unless you want literally hundreds of cross-breed rabbits within a year?

How to House your Lionhead Rabbit

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

You have many options for housing your lionhead rabbit. The type of rabbit cage you choose depends on many factors. There are 3 basic types of rabbit cages: 1) wooden hutch type 2) wire cage with a solid plastic bottom and 3) all wire cages that can house single or multiple rabbits.

Your choice of cage primarily depends upon where you would like to keep your rabbit. The wooden hutch type works well for keeping a rabbit outside. Most wooden hutches provide good shelter from rain and the elements.

Wire cages with solid plastic bottoms are good for housing rabbits inside your home. lionhead rabbits do well in small cages of this type and these rabbits are so sweet it’s enjoyable to have them close to you and to take them out to play and exercise. The advantage and disadvantage of this type is that they need to be cleaned frequently since there is no way for the rabbit droppings to go anywhere but inside the solid plastic tray. Rabbits tend to use just one area of their cage as a “bathroom” so they can also easily be litterbox trained if you choose to do so.

All wire cages work best if you have multiple rabbits and they are being housed on a veranda, in a shed or in a garage. The rabbit droppings fall through the wire, keeping the rabbit clean. Most of these cages come with a built in tray that can easily be removed without disturbing the rabbit. Be sure to compost the rabbit droppings as they will really help your plants or find a gardener in your neighborhood to share the droppings with. They will thank you. Some of these cages come in stackable form so if you have several rabbits and space is an issue, you can economize on space this way.

Good luck with your rabbits and if you decide to raise a lionhead rabbit, enjoy!

should i get a lion head rabbit or holland lopor mini lop???and what sex boy or girl?

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

i need to know soon thnks plz add why u picked the sex and why u picked what kind ,thnks!!

I personally like the holland lops they seem nicer and they like to cuddle and i had 3, two females and a male. one female was mean and would bite and the other one was really sweet. the male was really sweet but really nervous. you need to go and hold the bunny or bunnies you are interested and see which one you like more or is sweet and bonding with you.i heard bunnies who are fixed are better as pets and you don’t have to worry about the bunny having a risk of getting cancer. good luck and you will find the bunny that’s meant for you!
