Do lion headed rabbits make good pets?
Thursday, April 30th, 2009I might be getting some babies on Monday. Do they make good pet rabbits?
Yup they are, like any other rabbit they are alot more responsibilty then other small animals. They need to be spayed/neuteured or else they can get aggresive, poop everywhere and their pee will stink. You should get them fixed at around 4-6 months. They need to get their nails trimmed every six weeks too. It’s better to get it done at the vets as you could hurt them.
They need a large room with carpet they can have a good run around, they love to run around like crazy or else a large, secure outdoor enclosure to tear around in. They need to be out of their cage for at least 2 hours a day. In their diet they need a cup of vegetables, need to have hay all the time, and have a handful of pellets every morning and night. Good luck!
